Bookkeeper

About The Opportunity

Our client is an established Darwin business specialising in stone benchtops, splashbacks, vanity tops and monumental stonework. They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage their day-to-day financial records and support the efficient operation of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software • Record and categorise income, expenses and other business transactions • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable • Prepare customer invoices, supplier purchase orders and payment records • Process and record bank deposits and supplier payments • Complete monthly bank, credit card and account reconciliations • Monitor cash flow, outstanding accounts and available credit facilities • Assist with preparing budgets, expenditure reports and financial summaries • Review transactions for accuracy and report discrepancies to management • Maintain organised supporting documents for purchases, sales and project expenses • Assist with job costing for fabrication and installation projects • Prepare GST and other financial information for review by management or the company’s accountant • Liaise with customers, suppliers and external accountants when required

Key Requirements

• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts administration or a similar role • Relevant qualifications in bookkeeping, accounting or finance • Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks • Strong reconciliation and financial record-keeping skills • Good knowledge of invoicing, accounts payable and accounts receivable • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies • Good organisational, communication and time-management skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office systems • Experience within construction, manufacturing or stone fabrication would be advantageous
